Marching Right Along!

Wow, where does the time go?  It is already the end of March and today is the first day of Spring.   In honor of Spring, we made special Lemon Raspberry Macarons this week.  I can't tell you how popular our macarons have been.  They fly out of the shop when we make them.  Plus they are gluten free which makes it something I can enjoy too!!

Here is a sweet photo of a special order we did for Disney cupcakes with an added Elmo and Cookie Monster.  Sounded a little strange to us, but when we look at this picture I just think it all kinda fits.  

Prepping for Valentine's day!!

It is our single busiest day of the year so we are getting a head start on decorations.  I just wanted to share a small sample of what we are working on this year.

Meet the Staff!

Over the next few weeks, I will start introducing you to some of the staff that helps make Cupcake Bliss all that it is.  Here is Kristin Payne.  Kristin is definitely my right hand man (well woman really) and if you come by during the day she is the one to help you as she is my number one on customer service and orders too.  Below is a little of what she wants you to know about her.  Stop by and tell her hello sometime!!

What is your favorite Cupcake Bliss Cupcake?

This month, it is our new Mocha Bliss!!!  It is a chocolate espresso cupcake, with an espresso butter cream, topped with       chocolate shavings and a hazelnut stick.  My world has been rocked...again by this delightful cupcake.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Anyone that knows me can attest that it changes every day, depending on my mood, but hands down I try to wake up every morning and be "Easy Going."  I know this is hard since I wake up early to make the cupcakes, and sometimes our day is out of control, but I want to live my life every day being easy to get along with.

What is your passion, besides baking a delicious cupcake of course?

Performing!  It's all I ever want to do!  Singing, acting, theater, voice over work...you name it, I love it.  I hope to be doing it my whole life in some capacity.  

What do you want people to know about you?

I care about the happiness of others. I suppose that's why I bake delicious treats :)

What does your perfect day look like?
   
Waking up early to let my sweet new lab puppy out, drinking my soy latte by the window working on a piece of art work.   Meet my handsome boyfriend for a gut busting workout at the gym or an outdoor hike followed by a wonderful lunch on the patio enjoying the great outdoors with the love of my life.  End it by spending the evening with my lovely and crazy mini-me daughter, at home with the ones I love.  Busy, but full of laughter and grace.

Fall Wedding Season is Here!!

What an exciting time of year for us as this is our Busy Wedding Season.  Before I opened my retail shop, I just assumed from my research that summer would be our busy time of year.  Boy was I wrong. When the fall season hits (regardless of the record temps in DFW) our orders and wedding kick into high gear.  Enjoy just a small sample of what we have time to photograph.

Photo Shoot

Here are some pictures from a wonderful shoot I did for the Brides of North Texas current issue.  It has been one of my favorite shoots to date.  I love all the beautiful plum and purple hues and the set gorgeous, even though it was rainy the entire day.  Special thanks to Out of the Garden in Grapevine for making my cake look even more spectacular!

Cakes!!!

For a bakery that is trying to get away from cakes to focus on our popular smaller desserts, cakes sure have been keeping us busy this month.  Here are a few samples of cakes we did last weekend.

This one is for my sweet niece Olivia.  She wanted a glow in 

the dark, neon fun cake.  This is what we put together

from about three different cake inspirations.  We loved it!!

Here is a smash cake for little Finley when she turned 1 year!  

She even came into the shop and spent time with me!

And yes, my favorite.  My nephew wanted a Duck Dynasty Cake.

Now, I am one of the only people on the planet that does not watch

this show, but we put together one heck of a cake!!  Happy Birthday Trev!!
